Áit éicint leathbhealach idir Showband, Céilí band agus elastic band a gheobhaidh tú Trá Pháidín. Níl aon focal go dtí nach d'úsáid siad le cur síos ar a chuid cheoil ar mhaith le soundáil smartáilte ar nós jazz le ceol traidisiúnta le kosmiche.

Go dtí seo tá 2 EP agus 3 albam foilsithe ag Trá Pháidín, ina measc tá “An 424”, albam bunaithe ar turas sictíreolaíochta de bus an líne 424 a théanns ó Carna go Bhearna tríd Gaeltacht Conamara isteach go dtí Cathair na Gaillimhe. Is léirgeas aisteach é an t-albam den cumasc idir “phearsantachtaí” an bhus, tionchar tírdreacht an R336 agus an aigne solúbtha den Ghaeltacht ’s Ghalltacht, uilig cáite isteach le samhlaíocht sláim ceoltóirí ó culraí difriúil.

Tá “Albam na Bliana Gradam Nós 2023” bainte amach ag an 424 agus é le fáil ar céirnín chomh fáda siar le Nua Eabhrac agus soir leis an tSeapáin, le léirmheasanna fláthúil ar fud na cruinne.

Tá stáitsí móra Vicar Street, All Together Now, Ancienne Belgique agus Dún Uí Choileáin cásta ag Trá Pháidín agus iad ag tabhairt súil ar an Spidéil don ám i láthair go dtí go bhfuil Amphitheatre ceart tógthaí ar an Dóilín.

Somewhere between a Showband, a Céilí band and an elastic band you will find Trá Pháidín. There is no phrase they have not used to describe their music to sound smart: like cosmic jazz with traditional music.

To date Trá Pháidín has released 2 EPs and 3 albums, including “An 424”, an album based on a psych tour of the 424 bus line that goes from Carna to Bearna through the Connemara Gaeltacht into Galway City. The album is a curious reflection of the fusion between the “personalities” of the bus, the influence of the R336 landscape and the flexible mind of the Gaeltacht and the Galltacht, presented with the healthy imagination of musicians from different backgrounds.

The 424 has won the “Gradam Nós 2023 Album of the Year” and is also available on record in New York and as far east as Japan, with rave reviews around the world.

The big stages of Vicar Street, All Together Now, Ancienne Belgique and Dún Uí Choileáin are set at Trá Pháidín and they are giving a glimpse of An Spidéal for the time being until a proper Amphitheatre is built on An Dóilín.
