Cuirfimid fáilte roimh cheoltóirí as Meiriceá a bheas ag tabhairt faoi stáitse Áras Éanna chun ceol bluegrass agus western swing a sheinnt. Bainfidh Emily Otteson (Nashville), Sterling Drake (Montana), agus Adin Kloetzel (Montana) an ceol sin as na huirlisí dúinn, agus iad ar fud na tíre agus an réigiúin le coicís anuas.

Glór atá ann a “shnámhann go héadrom idir spiorad suantraí Ella Fitzgerald, fírinne bhallad Loretta Lynn, agus rithim dhílis an bluegrass nua-aoisigh” – sin an t-ealaíontóir Americana Emily Otteson, a iompraíonn amhráin a rugadh faoi phéine ardchailliúla an Iarthuaiscirt agus a póiríodh i Nashville, Tennessee. Taistil a d'amhráin ó ardán an Grand Ole Opry go hardáin ar fud Stáit Aontaithe Mheiriceá, agus anois, lena singil nua “The Wind” scaoilte, go cladach thiar na hÉireann.

Fréamhaithe i dtraidisiúin an fhréimhcheoil, thug turas an chanadánaí Sterling Drake ó Big Cypress i ndeisceart Florida go sléibhte thiar Montana agus gach áit eatarthu. Le claonadh don scéalaíocht dhílis, fígeann Sterling a dhearcadh féin isteach leabhar na n-amhrán Meiriceánach, agus is minic a leagann sé béim ar chiall láidir an áit trí íomhánna nádúrtha agus comhthéacs cultúrtha araon.

Beidh Adin Kloetzel, seinnteoir mandailíne agus dordveidhle, ag seinm in éineacht leo an oíche sin.

We welcome guest musicians from America who are stopping by Aras Eanna to showcase bluegrass and western swing songs and music. Emily Otteson (Nashville), Sterling Drake (Montana), and Adin Kloetzel (Montana) will treat us to a set of tunes as they tour the country and wider region over the next few weeks.

With a voice “lilts effortlessly between the spirit of Ella Fitzgerald’s lullabies, the fiery integrity of Loretta Lynn’s ballads, and the irresistible groove of modern bluegrass,” Americana artist Emily Otteson carries songs born under the towering pines of the Pacific Northwest and refined in Nashville, Tennessee. Her music has traveled from the grand stage of the Grand Ole Opry to stages across the United States, and now, with her new single “The Wind” released, to Ireland’s western shore.

Steeped in the traditions of roots music, the journey of country songwriter Sterling Drake has taken him from the Big Cypress of south Florida to the mountains of western Montana and everywhere in between. With a penchant for honest storytelling, Sterling weaves his own perspective into the American songbook, often highlighting a strong sense of place through both natural imagery and cultural context.

They will be joined on the night by mandolin and upright bass player Adin Kloetzel.
