Tarraing É i nGaeilge & Lucie Arnoux | Draw it in Irish & Lucie Arnoux

Mar chuid d’Fhéile Cartúin na Gaillimhe, beidh taispeántas de chartúin as Gaeilge ar siúl in Áras Éanna idir 6 Deireadh Fómhair agus 6 Samhain 2025. Seo é an séú taispeántas bliantúil de Tarraing é i nGaeilge, agus seolfar é in Áras Éanna. Cuirfidh an taispeántas raon leathan de stíleanna agus éagsúlacht ábhair ó chartúnaithe ar fud na tíre agus thar lear fiú os comhair an phobail. Tá súil againn go mbeidh an taispeántas suimiúil agus spreagúil – agus thar aon rud eile, go mbeidh sé greannmhar.

Mar aon leis sin, beidh taispeántas ó Lucie Arnoux, an t-ealaíontóir cartúin cónaithe in Áras Éanna ar feadh coicís deireadh Meán Fómhair. Is léaráidí agus údair í Lucie d’úrscéal grafach dírbheathaisnéis Je Ne Sais Quoi, agus an tsraith Enola Holmes. Mar aon le sin rinne sí ealaín do chluiche rólimirt Stonetop. Le linn a chónaitheach, tharraing Lucie pictiúir álainn bríomhar don timpeallacht, a n-eachtraí ar an oileán, agus do oícheanta súgracha ceolmhara ag na tithe ósta agus ag an Áras. Táimid ag súil go mór go mbainfidh cuairteoirí agus oileánaigh mar a chéile taitneamh as na taispeántais.

As part of The Galway Cartoon Festival, an exhibition of cartoons in Irish will take place in Áras Éanna between the 6 October and the 6 November 2025. This is the sixth annual exhibition of Draw it in Irish, launching in Áras Éanna. The exhibition will showcase a wide variety of styles and subject matter from cartoonists based around Ireland and abroad to the community. We hope that the exhibition will be interesting, inspirational – and above all, that it will be funny.

As well, Lucie Arnoux the cartoon artist-in-residence in Áras Éanna for the end of September, will also exhibit. Lucie is an illustrator and comic author whose work includes the autobiographical graphic novel Je Ne Sais Quoi, and the series Enola Holmes. She was also the artist for the tabletop RPG Stonetop. During her residency, Lucie drew beautiful, soulful pictures of the surroundings, her experiences on the island, and of nights out full of craic and music in the pubs and in the Áras. We are hoping that visitors and islanders alike will enjoy the exhibition.

Opening at 18:30 in Áras Éanna Monday 6 October
